Mac needs no security warning. Windows still shows one — here's why.

Fossick for Mac is signed with an Apple Developer ID and notarized by Apple, so macOS opens it immediately with no warning at all. Windows isn't code-signed yet — that costs money we're deliberately spending only after real customers have validated the product, not before — so Windows will show a SmartScreen warning ("Windows protected your PC"). That's expected for a small independent app without a paid certificate, and it takes one extra click to get past.
